WHO are Life and APS?

Updated: Sep 6, 2019

#Connect2019 is a unique joint conference by Life and the Alliance of Pro-Life Students. We’re joining forces to bring you back to basics. We’re pro-life, but our conference is open to everyone - whether you’ve been involved in the movement for a while, or are sitting firmly on the fence, we have something for you!

Keep an eye out for our team bios coming soon… for now, here’s some info about the organisations we work for!

The Alliance of Pro-Life Students was founded in 2012 by a group of uni students from across the country passionate about spreading a culture of life on campuses. Since then, we’ve worked with hundreds of students to build, support and connect pro-life societies in England, Scotland and Wales. Our vision is a nation which affirms the dignity of all human life from conception until natural death, and we want to equip you with all the tools to make that happen! We host annual Leadership Training events in Scotland and England, give talks and workshops, practical advice and support for pro-life students, and are always there to listen to you and to adapt to what you need. In this conference with Life, we want to hear all your toughest questions, and really help you to get to grips with pro-life principles from the start.

Life was founded in 1970 on the principle that it is not enough simply to oppose abortion but that we should also provide positive alternatives. Since then, thousands of women have been supported in their pregnancies by our Pregnancy Matters™ counselling services, and housing support, and our children’s hospices. Our Life MattersⓇ team will be heading up the Connect Conference, alongside APS. Life MattersⓇ is the education branch of Life - we speak to tens of thousands of high school and sixth form students each year, so we’re well-trained in the pro-life essentials! Last year, we launched our first ever Roadshow, taking to the streets of London to share the beauty of life before birth with passers-by. We are passionate about spreading this message to everyone, so hope to meet you at #Connect2019!

APS is run by students and recent graduates for students. Our unique mission is to build university pro-life communities in England, Scotland and Wales that have a lasting and profound respect for human life from fertilisation to natural death. We do this by building, supporting and connecting student pro-life societies.

Life's mission is to create a just society which has the utmost respect for all human life from fertilisation. Life believes that opposition to abortion has to go hand-in-hand with the provision of alternatives.
